Russian term or phrase: держать лапой
На суку сидела ворона Приза и свободной лапой крепко держала Травку. Внизу под деревом чернела пропасть.

Уважаемые коллеги!
Прошу подсказки. Главное затруднение у меня в том, как назвать лапы вороны по-английски, да еще и так, чтобы ими можно было что-нибудь держать (иди кого-нибудь, как в данном случае). Понятно, что не legs. Но и paws как-то вроде бы с вороной не увязываются...
