Citat iz crnogorskog Prirucnika za prevodjenje pravnih i drugih akata:Možemo reći da je transparentnost od suštinskog značaja pri izboru terminologije. Treba svakako izbjegavati engleske pravne nazive tehničke prirode da se ne bi čitaoci prevoda dovodili u zabludu da kod nas postoje apsolutno isti instituti kao u anglosaksonskom pravu. Na primjer, crnogorski Osnovni sud nikada ne treba prevoditi engleskim terminom Magistrates Court, iako se može reći da se u hijerarhiji sudova ova dva suda nalaze na istom nivou. To bi bilo pogrešno najprije u samom značenju, jer se ova dva suda suštinski razlikuju, a s druge strane moglo bi dovesti čitaoce prevoda do uvjerenja da je naš sistem identičan anglosaksonskom. Zato je bolje odlučiti se za ekvivalent Basic Court, iako takav termin u engleskom jeziku ne postoji, jer on odslikava osobenosti crnogorskog sistema.

agree  Danica Radisic (X): Kao sto rece covek "basic court" ne postoji. Obzirom da je termin u pitanju, ne moze bukvalno da se prevodi. Dodala bih i mogucnost "district court" ali je najbezbedniji upravo genericni izraz kojeg se John tako lepo dosetio i opisao.

disagree  Milena Chkripeska: Basic court is totally unacceptable translation equivalent for "osnovni sud". Possible solutions are: court of original jurisdiction, court of first instance, primary court ili magistrates court (in England and Wales)
