"THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA
OFFICE FOR THE STRATEGY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF
CROATIA
...

The first part of the curriculum is being conducted by means of so-called class teaching (in which one teacher teaches 6 subjects), and the second part is conducted by means of so-called subject teaching (each subject is taught by a specialized teacher). Each of the parts of the curriculum lasts for four years."

(naših i inostranih) jednostavnim prepisivanjem i ubacivanjem u naše školstvo stranih, a suštinski neodgovarajućih termina.

neutral  Kid A (X): A friend of mine and I translated the document of this sort from Macedonian into English and we had the exact problem. We are not too happy with it, but in the absence of a more suitable solution, we have settled for class and subject teaching.

lower/upper primary

Explanation:
Compulsory education is divided into primary school, consisting of lower primary level (grades 1-4) and upper primary level (grades 5-7) and lower secondary school (grades 8-10). In sparsely populated areas the primary and lower secondary schools may be very small, and there may be only a few pupils in each age group. Such schools often utilize mixed-age classes.

Currently, the Ministry of Education has standard furniture specifications for primary (grades 1 - 5, upper primary (grades 6 – 8 and secondary (grades 9 and above) school students... http://unjobs.org/vacancies/1149629648.81

The primary school Dimo Hadzi Dimov is one of the largest schools in TFYR Macedonia. There are 1,600 pupils in 45 classes. It has been functioning for 35 years and in the course of the last several years it has been involved in different projects as for example:" Interactive learning" in lower primary education; in upper primary education a differentiated approach in physics and biology is applied, and since last year the project "Inclusion of Children with Disabilities into Mainstream Education". The project is managed by the Pedagogical Institute of TFYR Macedonia.

General education consists of lower primary 4 years + upper primary 4 years + (non-compulsory) secondary 4 years. Vocational: after primary, 3 and 5-year vocational and technical secondary. 5-year programmes lead to Maturita exams. 4-year vocational programmes were phased out after 1998.
