Slovak to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Insurance
Slovak term or phrase: tvori.
EXACT RENDITION OF THE LAST THREE LINES OF PAGE 4 OF THE FAX: "Prostriedky ulozene do reservy na vyrovnavanie mimoriadnych rizik mozu dosiahnut maximalne 50% rocneho predpisaneho poistneho za uplynule obdobie vybraneho zo zmluvy, u ktorej sa tato spolocna reserva tvori. 50% prebytku rezervy bude prevedene na poistnika."

Bad grammar: ''tvori' and 'bude prevedene' compete for the attention of the 'spolocna reserva'. Yes, 'tvori' has a full stop after it (tvori.) ... Is it a bad cut-and-paste job from which some essential bit got dropped?
Can't figure it out.
The Slovak I think is translated from the Czech.

Explanation:
The contingency fund can make up to 50% of premium collected under the said agreement/policy. 50% of the excess money still remainin in the contingency fund shall be transferred back to the policy holder.

NOt sure about the 'contingency fund' terminlogy, but the rest should be sound.

I don't think anything was dropped from the fax, it sounds like a good sound Czech legalese/office speak. :-)

Asker: Of course. In English you can't start a sentence with a number (50% has to be 'Fifty percent'.) Now it makes perfect sense. Apologies -- it's very late here and I have another translation due in a few hours... I've been staring like a zombie at that period. "Resources placed in the reserves for the coverage of exceptional risk may amount to a maximum of 50% of the annual prescribed premiums for the completed accounting period taken under the agreement, under the terms of which this reserve is formed. Fifty percent of the reserve margin shall be disbursed to the policyholder."

Asker: Millions of thanks by the way.
