Slovak to English translations [PRO]
Slovak term or phrase: sokovna
I just received an email in Slovak with the following (including the smilies):

Ja neviem anglicky ale som sokovna :))))

I believe it says "I don't know english but I am ...." but I can't find the meaning of "sokovna"

Any help would be apprecitated.
Thanks!
Ellen Filicko
clever
Explanation:
Dear Ellen,
I think you misspelled the Slovak word. From the context, it could be "sikovna", which means "clever, quick learner". If the Slovak word spells sokovana, it means "shocked". Most likely the first, "I don't know English, but I am a qucik learner". Please let me know.

Thanks for the quick response! I double checked the email and the spelling I gave is the same as the email. I'm assuming that she mistyped it and that the first "o" should have been an "i". "Quick learner / Clever" makes perfect sense.

Ďakujem, Gabriel!!
(I'm just beginning to learn Slovak so I can correspond with family near Prešov. This site is really great!)
