Aside from the usual meaning as 'task' or 'chore' I need know if it can also mean 'overtime' in Cuba, Guatamala and Mexico. Is it correct for it to mean 'morning work' in Ecuador. I am translating dictionary entries.

In Cuba, faena is a rather formal (not colloquial)term for any of the above meanings, for instance, "el trabajo agrícola es una ardua y agotadora faena", meaning, "tarea, labor", and even "jornada", but never overtime; for overtime, "trabajo u horas extras o extraordinarias" is standard usage.
