The sentence goes:
Al Excedente 1997 le corresponde la suma de XXXX. Por lo anterior en el rubro de giros mostramos la suma de Col$ xxxx negativo, es decir recibimos mas pagos de parte de usteded que giros por nustra parte.

Explanation:
I agree with Gilda's translation.
However, I disagree with the concept: I think it refers to money sent to the other party (whatever the concept); that's why the balance is negative: the amount of received payments is higher than the amounts transferred.
