Por otra parte, el repliegue de los telones al final de las escenas ante los ojos del público rompe cualquier resquicio de ilusión escénica que pudiera subsistir. Añadamos, por último, una interpretación actoral –en general estereotipada– y una disposición de los cantantes en el espacio –de una simetría cartesiana– que en el conjunto de todos los elementos que participan en el engranaje de esta representación operística hacen resaltar el flanco más caricaturesco de los personajes, los cuales aparecen, y retomo la expresión de Peter Brook, “como un instrumento musical desafinado” (Brook, 1994: 31).
