En cuanto a la renovación tecnológica, era un reto muy interesante ya que teníamos pasar de una tecnología anterior a las tecnologías nuevas, en donde ya no trabajan secciones independientes para cada equipo, sino se integran cada una de las tecnologías con una serie de bandas y unos preanalíticos, pero esto se complicaba en el momento que teníamos que hacer este cambio de tecnología en la misma área física donde veníamos operando 24 horas al día, siete días a la semana.

That's what it says. Not sure what it means, perhaps bandwidth, fibre optics? But I don't think it's terribly important.

Not having enough knowledge of the query context, I lack evidence to refute "groups" as a solution. However, the question that springs to mind is: "If that's what it means, wouldn't they just say "grupos" in Spanish???
It still sounds more like something to do with fibreoptic bands or bandwidth to me.
