longitudinal boundary road Explanation: As I said in the discussion, VDL here seems to stand for "Vial de Delimitación Longitudinal". But I think they've just got it wrong; official documents identify it as "vial de delimitación longitudinal": "El VDL (Vial de Delimitación Longitudinal) de Almardá se abrirá al público esta misma tarde" http://www.morvedre.info/urbanisme/esta-tarde-se-ha-abierto-... I have not found any definition of this term in Spanish. I presume that "vial de delimitación" implies "boundary road". I can't think what else this term could mean. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-02-19 13:48:53 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- If it is "delimitación" rather than "limitación" (as it seems to be), I think it's more likely to refer to a road that delimits something, ie. marks the outer limit of it, which is why I suggested "boundary". "Limitación" would be more compatible with weight restriction, I would have thought. Here's another example of "vial de delimitación", which seems to me to mean "boundary road": "Sección del vial de delimitación norte del Sector" http://www.geonet.es/callejero/.\urbanismo\03-041\DESCARGAS\... |
