Para el caso de las pilas de lixiviación, una vez que hayan concluido las operaciones, el drenaje producido por la precipitación directa sobre la pila de lixiviación, podría impactar los recursos hídricos aguas abajo de las operaciones.

He encontrado "heap leaching pile" y "leaching pile". Algún experto en el tema me podría decir si son sinónimos o hay alguna diferencia? Gracias!

Perdón, es una parte del proceso conocido como Heap Leaching (Lixiviación en montones). Se trata de un tanque con fondo impermeable en el que se vacía el mineral y se riega con cianuro para disolver el oro (o la plata).
