architectural footprint Explanation: Just an idea... How has modern design impacted Spain’s architectural footprint? Much of modern Spanish architecture turns its back on traditional Andalusian architectural elements and embraces a modernist aesthetic. There are architects like Rafael Moneo who successfully modernize historical architectural elements, as seen in his design of the Seville Airport, which incorporates flared column capitals, arches and domes. I also saw many buildings in Spain that honor and preserve the work of their predecessors. https://www.kma-ae.com/issue-15/item/23-heather-mertes-takes... PART I— AN ARCHITECTURAL FOOTPRINT ON THE NORTHERN FRONTIER To understand the churches of New Mexico, one must consider more than the architectural ideas that shaped the form of these structures or the building methods used to construct them. The limits imposed by the physical environment, the patterns of exploration and settlement by the Spanish, and the politics practiced by them as they settled among the Pueblo Indians all contributed to the development of New Mexico's colonial architecture. https://publishing.cdlib.org/ucpressebooks/view?docId=ft7290... |
