Income from defaults/delinquency/breaching Explanation: Quebranto in accounting and finance means (debt) defaulting, delinquency (bad debt) or in judicial terms, breaching (a contract) so I guess this is company reveiving income from such (adverse) events... could be a bail bond issuer...in this case maybe a Colombian Afianzadora |

income from bank chages Explanation: Finance is not my speciality, hence my low confidence level, but according to a previous kudoz query, it can mean bank charges. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 50 mins (2018-02-05 19:05:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I meant "bank chaRges"... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 hrs (2018-02-06 13:06:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- NB: My initial thought was "bankruptcy" (quiebra de empresas), but I don't see how that fits. But then again, I'm not a financial wizard. https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish_to_english/tech_engineering/233575-quebranto_bancario.html |

Income from reversal of losses Explanation: Despite the confidence levels, answers so far fail to convince me. It is clear that the account is related to foreign exchange trading. I can only think that when a loss has been recorded on a foreign currency position an account is debited, but if in a subsequent period the FX position records a gain, this loss can be reversed and would be considered as income. Perhaps there is no room on the form for "ingreso por quebrantos recuperados" for example. |

Reference: Ingresos Quebrantos Reference information: Hi, I found an explanatory text from Gestion.org, which may throw some light on this. Not sure how accurate they are but... It appears that employees handling money and currency conversions receive a special extra part of their salary called 'quebranto de moneda' to cover any possible financial loss they cause to their employer through their own negligence in their work. When this does happen, the employer is able to recover the money from the employee. This then has to be entered in the accounts under this line item. It makes sense because this line item sits alongside the income from currency movements and gains. Hope this throws some light. https://www.gestion.org/recursos-humanos/politica-salarial/36267/que-es-el-quebranto-de-moneda/ |
