Spanish term or phrase: bajar (a alguien) de un inflado
I am translating a news article about the dissident guerrillas in Colombia, specifically about the current situation in one region after the Public Force recently killed one leader (alias David) and wounded another one (alias Guacho):

https://lasillavacia.com/silla-pacifico/la-guerra-en-tumaco-...

I read this segment as "are not knocking Guacho off the exaggerated position (perch? pedestal? but he can't be on a pedestal, that would be the opposite) the government and the media have put him on" or something along those lines, but I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance!

continue to see him as an overhype of/as being overhyped by
Explanation:
I see it that they believe he is being exaggerated by the media, and "los que sufren la violencia de las disidencias" continue to see Gaucho as just that, despite all the acts he has committed.

They continue to see him/won't stop seeing Gaucho as being overhyped by the government and the media.
