responderá directamente

English translation: directly accountable/liable

Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / Lease Contract
Spanish term or phrase: responderá directamente
El arrendatario responderá directamente al arrendador de todo daño de cualquiera naturaleza, que terceros pudieran ocasionar en la bodega

"The lessee shall be directly financially liable to the lessor for all damage of any kind, that third parties may cause in the warehouse."

Para estos efectos, el arrendatario responderá en los mismos términos que si él mismo, sus representantes o empleados, hubiesen causado el daño, no pudiendo excepcionarse alegando que el daño fue ocasionado por un tercero ajeno a su empresa.

Am I correct in that 'responderá' means to be financially liable here? Would 'directly financially liable' work? The clause continues - that the lessee shall be financially liable in/under the same terms as if he caused the damage himself.

Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help everybody
