Spanish term or phrase: S/A
In a record of personal search from the Dominican Republic, which details what items were confiscated from a suspect, at the end there three pre-printed signature blocks. The first for the suspect to sign, the second says "Testigo S/A," the third is for the acting official to sign. Any ideas what the "S/A" might stand for? It's unsigned in the case of my doc. so no clues in the signature.

Firma de persona registrada
Testigo S/A
Firma del funcionario actuante

Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much. I think this is as good an option as any in the context. I've included a note in the translation that the acronym is ambiguous but that it may mean "if applicable." Thank you for taking the time to assist!

S/A can mean so many things without additional context, so I must admit, this is a wild guess on my part.

I found two Mexican links where "s/a" means "si aplica":

agree  Terence Jeal: Good guess! Sounds OK to me. "If Applicable", and in this case it obviously was NOT applicable, as the box was not signed.

agree  lorenab23: I think this makes a lot of sense, witness signature (if applicable). Not all crimes have witnesses...
