Naturalmente, si solo sigue un nombre, se descartaría la opción "Acting in their own name" y se ajustaría al sexo de la persona según el nombre: Acting in his/her own behalf.

(US) a pro se litigant (UK) an LIP - Litigant in Person

Explanation:
Yes, smiliar to Juan's answer, but not quite.

I am a bit surprised that UK posters have not picked up on the long-running debate over the London etc. High Court guidelines on Litigants in Person.

Example sentence(s):
  • Similarly, a pro se litigant may not act as a class representative in a class action lawsuit and therefore a pro se litigant may not bring a class action.
  • In England and Wales, a litigant in person is an individual, company or organisation that has ... systems of Irish law and Northern Irish law. The equivalent in Scotland is a party litigant and in the United States is pro se legal representation.

  -> Thanks. Alas, nowadays in the London & Manchester High Court, the term isn't exactly a compliment, even for litigants who cannot afford a lawyer.
