Literally, "equivalent to theft", such as pirating, receiving stolen goods, theft of utilities and others.
I don't know as there is any specific term for this in USA, but the above is as close as I can get.
In addition, the term "robo equiparado" does not appear to be used in any country other than Mexico.

In opposition, \"direct theft\" would be simply the taking of a moveable object or asset that belongs to another. In \"robo equiparado\" it does not involve the same physical act but the result is the same, to deprive another of assets.
I don't know as there is any specific term for this in USA, but the above is as close as I can get.
