Well, I think you should take heed of what Sue Levy has to say. I expect she come across this term in the flesh as it were. I am just speaking from a linguistic point of view.
Dr Sue Levy (X) Aug 25, 2007:
Sorry, that's "cervicothoracic orthosis/brace" not thoracocervical.
Dr Sue Levy (X) Aug 25, 2007:
Have a look at this excellent article http://www.emedicine.com/PMR/topic173.htm In particular the Philadelphia collar with thoracic extension.
Dr Sue Levy (X) Aug 25, 2007:
orthesis
Rarely used term for an orthopedic brace, splint, or appliance.
There is no such thing as a cervicocephalic brace. The more logical combination would be thoracocervical (since that exists) and head brace.
Dr Sue Levy (X) Aug 24, 2007:
Do you have a picture of it? Could be a SOMI brace http://www.nbak.tierranet.com/somi.htm
Trudy Peters Aug 24, 2007:
Shouldn't this come under medicine?

agree liz askew : Well, I'd put "thoracic AND cervicocephalic orthesis".

neutral Dr Sue Levy (X) : orthosis or brace - I've never seen any with "cephalic" - head brace, yes, or head and neck brace

agree celiacp : I agree with Liz.
