colposcopy

Explanation:
In spite of being etimologically incorrect (because the greek root for colpo is vagina) the usual term is colposcopy as referred to a visual examination of the cervix uteri through a magnification device (biomicroscopy). It is used as a supplementary tool in the screening of the lesions of the cervix, mainly malignancies.
