Entiendo perfectamente qué es un sophomore. Acá el autor quiere indicar que, tratar de ponerse en contacto con Osvaldo Soriano (un importante autor argentino) era algo 'inmaduro', creo que por eso recurre al adjetivo sophomoric, para indicar un estudiante, uno que recién empieza. ¿Alguna buena idea para traducirlo?
