Chartered vs. Registered 00:15 Feb 24, 2018
In this case, Chartered psychologist, as chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), would be a fair translation of Psicólogo Colegiado -even though the latter refers to a regional (not national) society; Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos de [región correspondiente]. Registered psychologist -registered in the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council)- refers to an independent but complimentary registration to that of the BPS. It has no equivalence in Spanish but as Psicólogo Colegiado -although it is not an exact equivalent either. I guess chartered could be considered to be closer to the original, but from a practical stand point I would use the more common registered psychologist, as patinba has already suggested.
