Original quote

Spanish to English Social Sciences Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc.
Please excuse the posting on S>E, but I'm looking for as large an audience as possible. The looking for the original English of the quote below, which is a translation from "The Rise of the Network Society" by Manuel Castells (p. 3, so it must be the introduction). Does anyone have the book?

Deste modo, vivemos “uma separation cada vez mais abismal entre a lógica globalista da rede de fluxo de capital and da lógica do mundo cotidiano dos trabalhadores and massas populacionais, a qual gera uma nova and complexa contradition da Rede and da Identidade (Net and Self), que está levando os excluídos a construírem seu mundo à margem dos excludentes

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Aug 8, 2004:
All: Of course I was asking for the link, not the translation. That's what I said in my question. I've seen it done on ProZ several times before with good results. I had tried Amazon.com with tantalizing results, because I could not get to the particular page. I was trying to reach as wide an audience as possible. If there is further objection to my question, I will withdraw it and go to the library.

Hi Muriel

I think that you'll reach a larger audience in the forums.
Good luck.
Refugio Aug 8, 2004:
Muriel, I am quite sure you are not asking for a long translation but rather a quick link to the original. I don't see any problem with that, nor with the posting in a closely related language pair. We can all read Portuguese.
Juan Jacob Aug 8, 2004:
That's Portuguese, not Spanish, first of all, and a far too long question. See ProZ FAQ, please.

There is a "Search inside the book" feature on Amazon

Although it is "temporarily unavailable" at this moment, it ought to yield you some results after a while.

The quote would be in the Prologue, according to the Table of Contents.
