Don't work, don't function Explanation: Yes, what you have said is fine. Funcionar=work, function, though 'work' is what we really use in American English. Suerte, RT |

doesn't have business operations/isn't doing business Explanation: no opera La posibilidad de acceder a mercados en los que, por el momento, no opera. In the case of businesses + markets, *opera* really has an English cognate: to operate, to do business Your sentence would be: "A possibility to enter markets where [X] doesn't have business operations at the moment/ isn't doing business at the moment" Here are the relevant excerpts from the Oxford Superlex: 2 (frml) (funcionar, actuar) to operate; la protección no operará hasta que el asegurado haya pagado la prima cover will not become effective until the insured party has paid the premium; este vuelo operará todos los martes y jueves this flight will operate every Tuesday and Thursday; las tropas que operan en la frontera the troops operating along the border 3 (frml) (negociar) to deal, do business Oxford |

DEFINITELY! Explanation: But sometimes it's a case of not seeing the wood for the trees. Two possiblities: (1)an error - should be 'no operan' in which case your TT is right, yet it sounds wrong/illogical (Markets don't NOT work); (2) the subject is referred to previously - thus "The possibility of accessing markets in which ? at present //is not present/active//is not doing business". Try to locate a possible subject, indicated by ?, and (2) is possibly the solution. |

The possibility to enter new markets Explanation: Perhaps this would simplify the sentence a little bit. |

WORK IN Explanation: It´s not funny. The fact is that I think that you have to add the following adverb, personal pronoum and prep. for the sentence to be clear: "The chance to access markets WHERE for the time being HE doesn´t work IN". (As I don´t know if you are talking about a person or a company I should suggest changing he for "it"). Good luck! |
