It's for an environmental engineering project.
They also provide a word in brackets (deixallería) presumably in Catalan.

drop-off locations
Explanation:
According to the Barcelona city site, "puntos verdes" are places where people can drop off waste to be treated by recycling or to avoid contamination.

I wouldn't use "green areas" because it would be confused with parks.

Don't know whether this fits your wider context, but here's what Termium has:

green dot s CORRECT

CONT - Germany's new packaging laws, now being phased in through January 1993, are radical in concept and continue to generate considerable controversy, both in Germany and abroad.... Germany's "Green Dot" program. The green dot is a symbol adopted by Duales System Deutschland, a 400-member corporation established in 1990. The DSD collects a fee from participating product packagers for the right to display the dot on their products. Revenue thus generated is used to finance local, non-profit packaging-waste collection and recycling programs.... Green dots indicate to consumers that such packaging may not be returned to the retail outlet but should instead be sent to special collection containers or be taken to the local recycling center. Further, by displaying the green dot on products, manufacturers tell consumers that the packaging will be recycled or reused rather than landfilled or incinerated. s
OBS - The above term and context may be found in Packaging Magazine's Literature Showcase of June 1992. s

2 hrs
recycling material drop-off sites

Explanation:
Hola. "Puntos verdes" refers to "recycling drop-off sites" which is just another version of what scalesj has mentioned. "Puntos verdes" (Green points) is an euphemism, it's all actually quite gray, the green paint fades out so quickly with so much grime... you should see some of those sites down here...they mean well though! Then, "deixallería" is exactly that site. It comes from "deixalles" (waste). Link 1 goes: "Drop Off Site... Recycling Drop Off Site. Hopkins-Minnetonka Recycling Drop off Center ...".You may get more ideas from link 2. Good luck with it, cheers :-)
