Spanish term or phrase: funciones candidatas a datos
Oops! It's me again. Still on the subject of function points for software application, it says: "...para identificar las funciones candidatas a datos y transacciones".
Any bright ideas on how to render this?

Look forward to getting your feedback.

"to identify data and transaction processing candidate functions
Explanation:
Hola. How does that sound? There is a big absence in the Spanish original, I sense. The verb's AWOL. Well at least I can' t see it in its post. Then functions must do something with data, they don't become data or transactions. Then, process them? Mmmm, yeah I think...Check this: link 1: "Citation details: Evaluating Future Microprocessors: ... We used profiling to identify candidate functions for optimization..." And now link 2: "... senders and receivers. 1-16 LightStream 2020 System Overview ATM Data Processing Functions of ATM Adaptation Layer The ATM adaptation layer (AAL) segments ..." Another one: " ... element that performs data processing functions, including routine generation ... " from:

Can you get any sense out of this? I'm sniffing that those functions have not been assigned yet, ie: program is not finished, thus the phrase "candidate functions". Check links and see. Hope it helps. Good luck :-)

Thanks for clarifying the term. I can't say I'm 100% happy about the source text - lots of weird sentence structures and AWOL verbs, as you said. But I'm v. grateful for your help. Now, how about the other 50 queries I have??!!

to identify functions proposed for data and transactions

Explanation:
I tend to read "candidatas" in a different way, i.e., functions that are in line somehow to be processed.
