Explanation:

tyazhelaya neft’

heavy crude = heavy oil = тяжелая нефть

Antonyms: Light oil/light crude (= легкая нефть)

Crude can be either heavy or light. These two differ in terms of gravity. See some examples below:

“Generally, heavy crude oils have a gravity of less than 20° and light crude oils measure more than 34°.”
http://www.ipaa.org/departments/government_relations/Comment...

“The glut of crude oil will necessarily result in a large differential between high sulfur (sour), heavy crude oil and low sulfur (sweet), light crude oil.”
http://www.oil-gasoline.com/doc.asp?ID=128

The terms «tyazhelaya neft'» and «legkaya neft'» are perfectly understood by Russian-speaking petroleum experts, throughout the upstream and downstream sectors. I have used them many times.

Best regards,

Artyan

тяжелый сырец

Explanation:
иногда также "тяжелые сырцы" или "тяжелые нефти-сырцы". Последнее, впрочем, редко, так как понятие "сырец" самоочевидно относится к нефти.
10+ years of office at St. Petersburg Mining Institute supposes I dare say I know basic terminology. We have to be especially careful with the plural when translating into Russian, though. Make sure your text deals with DIFFERENT sorts of "crudos pesados", then it should be "тяжелые сырцы". Best of luck!

crudos pesados = heavy crude = heavy oil

Here are some definitions:
Crude Oil
Нефть. Природная смесь углеводородов метанового, нафтенового и ароматического
рядов с примесью органических, сернистых, азотистых и кислородных соединений,находящаяся в жидком состоянии в пластовых условиях и остающаяся жидкой в поверхностных условиях
http://www.nefte.ru/slov/c.htm

Heavy Crude (Oil)
Тяжелая нефть, ТН. Дегазированная, высоковязкая и малоподвижная в пластовых
условиях нефть, абсолютная вязкость которой составляет от 0,05 до 10 Па*с
(первичный признак), а плотность - от 0,934 до 1 г/куб.см (вторичный признак)
http://www.nefte.ru/slov/h.htm

Extra-Heavy (Crude) Oil
"Сверхтяжелая" нефть. Высоковязкая тяжелая нефть, плотность которой более 1
г/куб.см, а вязкость в пластовых условиях не превышает 10 Па*с
http://www.nefte.ru/slov/e.htm

Using the word "сырец" isn't so obvious as it has various meanings: green, greenware, adobe, green body, adobe brick, air brick, air-dried brick, cob brick, green brick, lime-sand brick, sun-dried brick, cob, green compact, green war and even raw silk.
If you'd like to use it then it would be better to say "тяжелая нефть-сырец".
