Spanish term or phrase:Jamil Mahuad (pronunciación)
Jamil Mahuad was an Ecuadorian president of Lebanese origin, whose Arabic forename and surname are transliterated on the basis of English orthography, because of which originally Jamil is not [xamil] as in Spanish and Mahuad is not [mauad] as in Spanish (spelling in is IPA-based).
As far as I know 'j' in Alberto Fujimori's surname is not pronounced as in Spanish 'j', so I wonder whether Hispanic people pronounce Jamil Mahuad's name as /yamil majuad/ more or less like original pronunciation or /jamil mauad/ like Spanish spelling pronunciation (spelling in // is Spanish-based).
Or is there any standard pronunciation for his name?
