De acuerdo al Diccionario crítico de dudas inglés-español de medicina de Fernando Navarro.
Se aplica por igual al procedimiento como a la imagen final (similar a lo que sucede con el término "radiografía". El paciente se somete a una radiografía y obtiene una o varias radiografías (imágenes), no se somete a un "radiograma" y obtiene una o varias radiografías)
Son lo mismo.
En inglés, mammography o mammogram.

Yo creo que tanto el procedimiento como la imagen son mamografías (aceptado por la RAE y aparece también en el diccionario Clave).
Aunque mamograma es de uso común, no esta en el DRAE, ni en el Clave, ni en el Vox. Y mamógrafo, que sí está, es el aparato que sirve para realizar mamografías. ¡Suerte!
