Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Accounting / National Accounts (United Nations)
Spanish term or phrase: bienes en comodato
This is a document on National Accounts, based on the United Nations System of National Accounts 1993. I'm assuming that "bienes de uso" is 'goods of use' - hope that's OK. Here is the entire context:

Dep._Ejercicio / Stock

Como se aprecia en la expresión anterior se ha utilizado como proxy del Stock de Capital Fijo la suma de los ítems “Bienes de Uso Depreciables” y **“Bienes de Uso en Comodato”**, los cuales corresponden a dos cuentas complementarias pertenecientes a la cuenta de stock “Bienes de Uso”.

Assets on loan for use

Be careful!

'Bienes de uso' is an accounting concept equivalent to 'property, plant and equipment' in the US, and to 'fixed assets' in the UK.

Therefore, I would suggest property, plant and equipment/or/fixed assests on loan for use.

Agreeing with the caution required, I'm sticking in the 'de uso' to save you posting a sep. question.

In Arg. & Urug. etc., bienes de uso contrast with bienes de cambio. Also, motor cars are bailed with a garage for repair, rather than a co. assets.

Example sentence(s):
  • benefits like *free leased equipment*, free IP set-up and free local line ..... Like a consultant, your doctor is working for you -- you are the client. ...
