Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Accounting / Certification of annual accounts
Spanish term or phrase: Certificación de la huella digital
This occurs in a document preceding a company's annual accounts (Barcelona). I know that "huella digital" means "fingerprint", but I'm not sure in this context. I quote:
"Certificación de la huella digital".
...
Las personas arriba indicadas certifican que el depósito digital genera la huella digital siguiente:
[computerised code number]"
Is there such a thing as a "digital fingerprint" to identify a company, etc.??
Thanks in advance for suggestions.

digital fingerprint
Explanation:
It looks like there is such a thing as a digital fingerprint:

http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/digital-fingerp...

And in one bilingual glossary:

You're welcome.

I would say that the "huella digital" doesn't identify the company but rather that particular document.

From the references I provided, it looks like the digital fingerprint is just a series of numbers, potentially in binary, not an actual fingerprint.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you, Joshua. I'm pretty sure it must be "digital fingerprint", but those I've seen on the web contain reproductions of actual fingerprints, whereas the one in my document is a lengthy combination of figures and numbers - no fingers involved!
