Spanish term or phrase: contrapaso
Tomando a los maestros que tenían en medio, empezaban su baile y canto, donde el que no acertaba a hacer los contrapasos a son y compás, lo enseñaban con mucho cuidado.

There is no word "counterstep" in English, and I know I ought to know a translation for this, but I just can't think of it! TIA!!
