Spanish term or phrase: Los que parecen más amarrados muchas veces amanecen de ...
This is a phrase from an old Mexicn movie (1950's) I'm subtitling. The sound quality is bad and I can't make out the end of the phrase. It might be "amanecen de chiflas(r)" or "sin plas?" I'm hoping someone might recognize the saying. The man saying it is a crooked politician complaining about being betrayed by his party. Thanks for any input!

Hi Stacey:-)
It's late so I couldn't check this out with a few knowledgeable Mexican "movie buff" friends, nor whether it's just a line from the movie or a well-known phrase, like your other question (de la casa del jabonero).

So as not to simply leave you in the lurch, I'll make you an offer---just in the hope of being able to help:

If it turns nobody else can give you a satisfactory answer, shoot me an e-mail through ProZ, with the name of the film, year, and main actors---and I'll see what I can do for you. It's up to you as this question will be off the board a few hours from now.

Good Luck:-)
