Spanish term or phrase: Comportamiento no marcado
Hi! This is a linguistics text about the use of polite/impolite language in political debates. The sentence I'm having trouble with goes:

Could anyone suggest a meaning for this "comportamiento no marcado"? Is is stg. to do with uncharacteristic behaviour, or am I completely off the mark?

Look forward to hearing your suggestions.
