Thank you all, but I am reposting the entire sentence. This is too messy to figure out (at least for me) without giving you the whole sentence.

just one thing

Explanation:
English is not my mother tongue, so I'm sure any native speaker will give you a better version, but I just wish to point something out. My guess is that "trascendencia" here does not mean "significance", but rather that the issue was given a lot of space in mass media, or that people talked about it a lot, or something along those lines. Trascendencia can have both meanings (the one I'm proposing is easily understood if you think of the verb "trascender": become known, become public...)

especially interesting judging by its extensive coverage

Explanation:
Another idea uisng AIM's suggstion as a basis
trascendencia can also be translated as relevance, implications, consequences.

I don't like the judging by much either. How about "especially interesting if we take its extensive coverage into account".

of special interest, judging by its/their impact

Explanation:
From the Diccionario de la Real Academia Española for "trascendencia":

2. Resultado, consecuencia de índole grave o muy importante

From Webster's for "impact":

2: a forceful consequence; "the book had an important impact on my thinking"

Hope it helps.
