efficiency ratio Explanation: The web page belows defines two kinds of efficiency ratio for banks, which is probably relevant to your savings institution context. However, there are many kinds of efficiency ratios, when it comes down to it. Basically the generic variety measures the 'operating margin', which broadly speaking would be the difference between what you sell in $ and what it cost in $ to make that quantity. That said, accountants probably define the costs to be inc/excluded differently. You won't go wrong simply translating as 'efficiency ratio' Good luck.
