This document also talks about garantía de oferta, which I'm translating as "bid bond," and garantía de cumplimiento, which I'm translating as "performance bond."
But I'm not clear on the garantía de la adjudicación.

Many thanks

The answerers all took so much trouble I thought I'd thank them by providing some feedback.
My gut reaction, as some suggested, was that it was an "award guarantee."
More than one argentinean colleague advised that "garantía de adjudicación" is a local way of saying "performance bond."
The document itself uses this term in a sense that to me indicates "performance bond," although it took a couple of people hitting me on the head until I saw it that way. What I mean
is that it refers to compensating the client for non-fulfillment.
Also, I found this cute phrase in an Argentinean statute:
A solicitud de los interesados y salvo el caso de los pagarés sin afianzar, deberá procederse a la devolución parcial de las garantías de adjudicación en proporción a la parte ya cumplida del contrato, para lo cual se aceptará la sustitución de la garantía
para cubrir los valores resultantes

So, unless someone can talk me out of it, I'm going to go with "performance bond" but still indicate to the client that it's a sticky term.

Thanks for all your help!

CONTARCT GUARANTEE

Explanation:
I read the text several times and I find that it means a guarantee for or the contract ( wnich includes modalities of contracting the supplies and / or services) which will include all things apart from perfromance bond or bid bond so as to avoid any lacuna in legal terms.

contract acceptance guarantee

Explanation:
or, alternatively, "contract award acceptance guarantee." The idea here is that the bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be committed to accepting the award of the contract, before the actual execution or performace phase begins. In other words, this guarantee bridges the gap between the contract-award decision and the start of work under the contract. -- HTH, HC

Award Guaranty (Guarantee)

Explanation:
seguro de caucion is contingency insurance (US)- fidelity guarantee insurance (UK)

As per the MAPFRE dictionary of insurance (Spain), this type of insurance is used often to guarantee bonds furnished to government agencies to bid on and execute government projects. Therefore, the way I see it, this is just the award guaranty or guarantee on/for the award (of the contract)
