Spanish term or phrase: referir un cheque
Hi Proz,
This is a translation about counterfeit cheques and the bank recommends - referir todos los cheques del cliente para asi poder devolver de inmediato cualquier cheque falsificado. Any help appreciated.

English translation:SCRUTINIZE THE CHEQUE
Explanation:
A procedure usually followed by bank clerks/tellers when in doubt as to the authenticity of a cheque. They check the signature against the one on their customer records files, as well as other pertinent details.

You could also use "To make a thorough inspection of the cheque", as another possibility.

Hope this helps:-)

verify

Explanation:
I would suggest that it means "to verify" - it is recommended to verify the authenticity of the cheque.

I suggest you "To relate"

Explanation:
Because "verify" in this situation (fin. contexts) is a procedure by someone that has the rights knowledges, to decide if the cheque is a fake or not. And here happens that the Bank only is going to relate them to the client, in order to see if they are not fakes.-
Hope this helps.

4 hrs
consignar datos del cliente

Explanation:
