Spanish term or phrase: previabilidad
Title of a Colombian document: "Estudio de previabilidad."
Is that the same as "viabilidad"?--feasibility?
That's really what the document is about. How ignorant can I be?

Thanks to all. I decided to use this one. What you all couldn't know (because I didn't tell you) is that this study is followed by a "feasibility study". It's just that "pre-feasibility" didn't mean anything logical to me.

Explanation:
Well, just guessing like you, but maybe this will do it; that's my sense of it. Not so ignorant, you were able to teach me a few things back in the '60s!

pre-feasibility study

Explanation:
... according to Eurodicautom.

I used to work for a major consulting engineering company, translating lots of documents mentioning feasibility studies without ever once coming across a pre-feaxibility one. However, there are lots of Google hits for pre-feasibility study, so I suppose Eurodicautom is right. (An new trend?)

PS I don't believe in pre-viability study. No google hits for pre-viability study and pre-viability only in connection with abortions - but of course I don't know what your document is about!

I hope this is of some help to you.
