adjusting entries Explanation: This is the other translation offered by my financial dictionaries, and with more "hits" in google than adjustment entries. See Business Owner's Toolkit (http://www.toolkit.cch.com/text/P06_1530.asp) for a lengthy explanation of which part is: "adjusting entries are made at the end of an accounting period to account for items that don't get recorded in your daily transactions". See also xrefer (http://www.xrefer.com/entry/161537) for another explanation. For adjustment entry I've found this explanation: "any entry which is created by bank activity other than deposits and checks. An adjustment entry may either increase or decrease the running total" (http://www.du.edu) Hope this helps! |
