Spanish term or phrase: autopréstamo
Se financieron via autopréstamos.
Document from Colombia.
I'm thinking this is "internal loan," but I can't confirm. Does anyone have a reference?

Thanks!

All the answers were helpful. The fact that this doc. was from Colombia notwithstanding, in this particular case it was not
about money laundering, but internal financing. Thanks to all.

Explanation:
"autopréstamos" are illegal in most countries. In this case, you mentioned Colombia. This is some kind of money laundering scheme very widely used by companies associated with drug smugglers and traffickers. They are not 'self-financed'projects. I'd ssay they are simulated loans, simulated self-financed projects or just fake loans. There are many countries currently issuing legislation to protect against these practices since these guys don't pay taxes...!
