Note :
La subvention est accordée à la discrétion de l'organisme subventionneur. Il en établit lui-même le bénéficiaire et le montant et peut fixer des conditions à satisfaire.
On distingue, selon leur destination, trois types de subventions : la subvention d'équilibre, la subvention d'exploitation et la subvention d'équipement. Le terme « subside » désigne une somme versée à un particulier ou à un groupement soit à titre d'aide ou de subvention, ou encore en rémunération de services.
