qualify her / him for recognition of Explanation: "Suficiencia investigadora" is the main hurdle a doctoral candidate has to overcome in Spain. It comes after the initial taught courses in the doctoral programme and consists of an examined research project. Its function is to demonstrate that the candidate possesses the requisite research skills to be able to write a thesis, which is the last stage. "Le acreditan el reconocimiento de" means that they prove or certify that she/he is worthy of recognition of her/his research proficiency, worthy of having her/his research proficiency recognised. You could put it like that, if you like, but I think "qualify her/him for recognition of" would cover it and it's a bit neater. (Sorry about all the "she/he" etc., but it's not clear whether the person is male or female.) |
