cable gland Explanation: As a rule, it is a plastic or rubber device fitted on a sheet metal section of a conection box or switchgear to enable electric wires to go into the above without rubbing against it since it could damage their PVC insulation. Sometimes they include some sort of thread & nut mechanism which, when tightened, holds wires in place. I have personally worked with these cable glands in the erection of over 200 sugar centrifugals in my home country. |
