El área del denuncio minero se ubica en la zona imbricada que tiene un ancho promedio de 5km., y que consiste en placas gruesas de sedimentos mesozoicos buzando al Oeste y Suroeste, separadas por grandes fallas inversas y sobreescurrimientos que buzan al Suroeste.

Las fallas son largas y continuas, en algunos casos pueden alcanzar hasta 25km. y se supone que los sobreescurrimientos representan un transporte horizontal de varios kilómetros.
