- En el periodo desde el 29 de diciembre de 2008 al 31 de enero de 2009, se han presentado 8.678 expedientes para el apartado 1) de la Disposición Adicional 7ª de la Ley, correspondientes a hijos; 1.085 correspondientes a nietos del exilio (apartado 2) y 352 de ciudadanos que están utilizando la Ley para pasar de nacionalidad no de origen a nacionalidad de origen (10.115 expedientes presentados en total).

agree  María T. Vargas: In Spain grandchildren of Spaniards were granted the Spanish nationality with favoured conditions as against those for other foreigners. So I'd use your first option rather than "foreigners".

naturalized / naturalised nationality


Explanation:
Naturalized nationality: nationality acquired by a foreign national

nacionalidad no de origen - nacionalidad de origen : both categories here refer to Spanish nationals, but this is about naturilized citizens who want their Spanish nationality to be recognized as being the "nationality of origin" (by virtue of place of birth, family...), or in other words, they want to be recognized as having been Spanish nationals all along.

It is not "foreign/alien nationality" as proposed by some collleagues.
