Social Sciences - Human Resources / Feedback interview
Spanish term or phrase: negativizar
Hi there,

Mentioned in one of eight bullet points under the title "The Golden Rules of Feedback."

Term bugging me here is "negativizar":

Context:

No other examples of the use of negativizar I'm afraid. Although I found negativize listed as a neologism (http://neologisms.rice.edu/index.php?a=term&d=Neologisms&t=N... it doesn't seem to me that it would mean much in this context.

I have provisionally translated as "discredit".

TIA for your ideas!

disconsider / disesteem / reproach

Explanation:

cast a negative light on somebody

Explanation:
Another option. It may be that you are not putting somebody down completely, or discrediting or denigrating him/her. It may be just hinting something that "negativiza" your idea of that person, even in a subbtle way.
