Spanish to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Journalism
Spanish term or phrase:quitar de las manos
I would appreciate it if anyone could come up with a similar idiom in English Thanks in advance!
What I meant by previous posting was that sell like hot cakes seemed to fit in with equinda's question about hacer el agosto, not a previous posting on Kudoz. But I can't agree more about needing context.
Hi equinda: I understand now that you're new to this game... Don't forget that as well as providing context, you're also expected to check in dictionaries and glossaries (eg, KudoZ) before posting a question. Peter's answer is based on a previous posting
I am writing about the crisis in Spain and realize that I was resorting to plain and boring English. Certain things "me las quitan de las manos" meaning they are selling well or better than before the economic pinch. Thus sell like hot cakes is what I was looking for.
This was my first request for a translation. Next time I will keep in mind the context as well.
