The opinion of the "Ministerio Público"

Explanation:
It is more appropriate not translating "Ministerio Público" as it is an office inherent to a certain government organization. You may explain it with a translator´s note, and yes, it is 'similar' to the Attorney General's Office, an office of the Justice Department.

(1) Public prosecutor's office

Explanation:
(2) Public prosecutor's department

(sorry; this is a continuation)
... found in Eurodicautom as: (a) Office of the Public Prosecutor; (2)Public Prosecutor's Department. It is not an official name but a common one. Therefore, it should be translated. For the American public it may be translated as above or as the general attorney's office. English attorneys would refer to this office as "the Crown", but this term relates only to the British system and can on no account be used as a translation equivalent. Consequently, "public prosecutor's office" is the most adequate and universal translation.

Does this text include the use of the word FISCAL?

Explanation:
I would be quicker to say it has something to do with the Public Prosecutor if it included the term FISCAL somewhere. The paracer is the opinion, and another possibility might simply be GOVERNMENT MINISTRY......

(1) Public Prosecutor's office

Explanation:
(2) Public prosecutor's department. Ministerio público is defined in the DRAE (Diccionario de la Real Academia) as: "Representación de la ley y de la causa del bien público, que está atribuida al fiscal ante los tribunales de justicia." It is equivalent to the French "Ministère public", which can be found in Eurodicautom (an error occurerre while writing this, Sorry for the interruption. See the entry above for the continuation)

Ministerio Público

Explanation:
In Mexico, this is a rather low to middle level, mobile or fixed, bureaucratic office/precinct (the word also denotes the person in charge of it). When a crime is committed or an accident happens, this is the office in charge of the first investigations, interrogations, questions to witnesses and so on. "El parecer" is of course "La opinión".
Hope it helps.

3 hrs
Office of the Local Prosecutor

Explanation:
Ministerio Publico is a local entity. Shouldn't be confused with the General Attorney's office since it is subject to the jurisdiction of the General Attorney at the Federal or State Level. The General Attorney's office is named 'Procuraduria General de Justicia', in Mexico. Under this system, there are no courts, there are only 'juzgados' where the judge's ruling is limited bu the jurisdiction of the Ministerio Publico. This translation doesn't have an accurate equivalent in English since the system is radically different.

disagree  Katty Kauffman: This is totally incorrect. The "ministerio publico" IN CHILE has NOTHING to do with public affairs and is in fact the prosecutor´s office. See www.ministeriopublico.cl

20 hrs
public prosecutor

Explanation:
Having read the above answers, it seems evident that the meaning depends on whether we are speaking of Chile, Mexico, Spain, etc. In Spain (my country), the term is used to refer to the prosecutor, prosecutor's office or prosecutor's department. In the context it could mean "el fiscal" (the prosecutor as a person) or the general attorney's office (as an institution, i.e. "el ministerio fiscal," which is not a Ministry or governmental department, i.e. "la fiscalía"). The general meaning of the text should reveal whether it is referring to the person or to the institution.
