Spanish term or phrase: cuarto curso de bachillerato - Dominican Rep.
I'm translating a transcript from the Dominican Republic and this person "aprobó el cuarto curso del bachillerato del plan tradicional". Does anyone know the equivalent in the States?

Thank you for your help!

Explanation:
The word "bachillerato" can refer either to the courses leading to the bachelor's degree, or to the degree itself. In this context, the first meaning appears to be the intended one; i.e., the person in question "completed the fourth year of studies leading to the bachelor's degree, under the old [or "traditional"] academic system." -- Hope this helps!

bachillerato is same as high school in U.S.

Explanation:
Generally a bachillerato degree in Latin America is the equivalent of a secondary school (high school) degree in the United States. After receiving the bachillerato one can go on to the university to become licenciado/a in a professionary field.
